DR. STEPHEN BENNETT

FISH & WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST

Stephen is a principal and co-founder of Anabranch Solutions. Stephen is has over 30 years experience in conservation, wildlife biology and restoration ecology issues across western North America. Stephen and Nick  started working together in 2007, when Stephen joined Eco Logical Research, and they started the Asotin Creek Intensively Monitored Watershed. Stephen and Joe started working together in 2009 on developing more effective ways of building instream wood structures (HDLWD) in the Asotin.

Stephen  earned a PhD in Fisheries Biology from Utah State University in 2007, where he contributed to conservation planning for Westslope cutthroat populations in British Columbia.  Stephen continues to study cutthroat, and is involved with maintaining a long-term research project for Bonneville cutthroat in Logan. Stephen joined the USU Department of Watershed Sciences as a Senior Research Scientist in 2011 and became an Adjunct Assistant Professor in 2013.   

​Stephen also earned a Masters in Resource and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University, and a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana. Stephen and his wife road trip to bird hot spots whenever they can and love playing in the snow of northern Utah.
