Sam is passionate about water resource management and the impacts of low-tech solutions. She has managed programs for a nonprofit in the Deschutes Basin implementing pollinator habitat and conducted undergraduate research on ecosystem responses to Beaver Dam Analogs.

​Prior to pursing a degree in Natural Resources at Oregon State University-Cascades, Sam lived in South America for two years learning both Spanish and Portuguese. When she’s not conducting fieldwork, Sam spends her free time mountain biking, backcountry skiing, climbing, and backpacking.
