Program Manager

Jeff O’Connell

RESTORATION COORDINATOR

Jeff was born and raised in the Midwest where I took an interest in geology, biology, and the outdoors at a very young age. This eventually led to obtaining both a BS and MS in Geology. During graduate school, he spent a short amount of time working for a Geotechnical Engineering firm as well as an Environmental & Engineering firm both based in the Midwest. Shortly thereafter, Jeff decided to move west and pursue his interest in the earth sciences and public land management which resulted in just over 22 years working for several Federal agencies in the western US. Primarily working as a Hydrologist, the focus was on analyzing activities that include range management, recreation, timber management, fire and fuels, water rights, mineral development, and restoration activities.

Jeff is  passionate about public land management and strongly interested in meadow, stream, riparian, and wetland restoration and enhancement for ecosystem function benefits, cultural purposes, and the enjoyment of the public. In my free-time, Jeff enjoys international travel and just about anything human powered outside that includes rock climbing, mountain biking, backpacking, canyoneering, boating, and snowboarding. Other simple pleasures include good coffee, good beer, cooking, yard work, board games/bar games/yard games, and spending time with family and friends.
