After acquiring a B.S. in Biochemistry at Eckerd College, Alex worked on a variety of wetland/riparian restoration projects in the greater Portland and Willamette River watershed. He has interests in rehabilitating wetlands, stream sedimentation and soils, and water resources.

For leisure, Alex likes to spend his time mountain climbing, pack-rafting, and cooking with friends. ​
